Southern Counties CAMHS Provider Collaborative

PC Southern Counties_Colour_RGB.jpgThe Southern Counties Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Provider Collaborative is responsible for commissioning specialist mental health, learning disability and autism services and managing the admission and discharge plans for young people with complex needs who live in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway.

The PC is a consolidation of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway CAMHS Provider Collaborative and Surrey Heartlands CAMHS Tier 4 Provider Collaborative, which previously operated as separate entities.

Our partners

The Provider Collaborative is led by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which works in partnership with NHS trusts and independent sector providers from across the region to deliver an efficient service and improve patient experience and outcomes.

Our partners are:

  • Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust
  • North East London NHS Foundation Trust
  • Elysium Healthcare

Achievements

Since the inception of the PCs, the average waiting time for admission has reduced by 30% and more young people are accessing intensive home and community-based treatment programmes. This means they can remain at home with their families and in their communities rather than be admitted to hospital.

Our focus

The Southern Counties CAMHS PC will work in partnership with people with lived experience, NHS and independent provider partners to create a full range of in-patient beds and alternatives to admission. This will build on the development of existing innovative services commissioned by the PC, including COAST, an intensive home treatment service, and Spring Tide Eating Disorder Day Service in Sussex and Closer2Home in Hampshire.
